Amazing Dogs will consider adoptive families in Southern California only. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers. Our goal is to make the best rescue match by taking into consideration the dog's background and your family's needs. Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a furever-home match. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's permanent home.
We appreciate you wanting to bring a rescue dog into your home. In order for us to reserve a dog for you or help you find the right pet, we need you to submit an adoption application. It is a short form and it will take you only a few minutes to fill out. We handle the applications in the sequence they come in.
After receipt of your application, we will call you to discuss your ideal dog, and we may
have some additional questions for you. If we think we have the right dog for you, you will be invited for an intimate (invitation-only) adoption event for the next Saturday or Sunday in the San Diego area. The dog that you are mainly interested in will normally be present at this event.
If you are No. 1 on the list for a certain dog, you will be the first to have the opportunity to interact with him or her. If you have other dogs in your household, you should bring them to this event.
If you are No. 2+ on the list, we will invite you to come a bit later to the event. We cannot guarantee that the dog or puppy you selected will be available, but other pups will be.
If there is a match and our rescue dog feels comfortable with you and your other dog(s), if any, we invite you to sign the adoption agreement. After payment of the adoption fee, you can take your new best friend home.
We will provide complete and up-to-date medical records as proof of vaccinations and other treatment. You have to provide collar and leash.
